Watch: Alexis Sanchez scores his first goal for Manchester United

Alexis Sanchez opened his account for Manchester United in his home debut on Saturday, helping the Red Devils to a 2-0 win over Huddersfield. The goal from Sanchez came in the 68th minute when he was able to tap in the rebound after failing to convert from the penalty spot on the first go.

The Chilean international had moved to Old Trafford earlier this week from Arsenal after he refused to sign a new contract at The Emirates. The United number 7 had spent three and a half seasons with the Gunners in which he scored 60 goals in 122 appearances.

However, his time without coming close to winning the Premier League or go beyond the Round of 16 stage in the Champions League. The lowest point of his time as a Gunner came last season, when after a gap of 21 years, Arsenal failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Sanchez, who had been expected make away from North London finally ended up switching to Manchester United six months before his contract was due to expire. The move saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan – who had failed to settle down at Old Trafford since his move from Borussia Dortmund move to North London to join Arsenal.

Sanchez was brought in to add more firepower to the United team and he delivered in his second game after failing get into his own against Tottenham.
