Sir Alex Ferguson thanks medical staff after successful recovery

Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken for the first time since being rushed to the hospital on May 5th following a brain haemorrhage. The former Manchester United manager has made a full recovery and has thanked the entire medical staff who took care of him in such a professional manner.

Sir Alex was admitted to Salford Royal hospital where he underwent an emergency procedure and it now seems that he has finally made a complete recovery.

In a video posted on Manchester United’s Instagram page, the Scotsman expressed his gratitude for the way he was treated in these traumatic couple of months.

“Hello, just a quick message. First of all to thank the medical staff at Macclesfield, Salford Royal and Alexandra Hospitals. Believe me, without those people who gave me such great care, I would not be sitting here today. So, thank you from me and my family. Thank you very much,” Sir Alex expressed in the video.

'It has made me feel so humble, as all the messages that I have had from around the world, wishing me the best and the good wishes, do resonate very strongly with me,” he added.

The 76-year-old also went on to claim that he would be back at Old Trafford to watch his team in action sometime later this year. 'Lastly, I will be back later in the season to watch the team. In the meantime, all the best to Jose [Mourinho] and the players. Thank you very much.'

Sir Alex is widely regarded as one of the greatest managers of all time, having won 38 trophies, including 13 Premier Leagues and 2 Champions Leagues, during his 26-year stint at United. His last public appearance was when he presented long-time rival and former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger a trophy back in April at Old Trafford.
