Paul Pogba not the problem, two Man Utd stars must take blame – Roy Keane

Former Manchester United skipper and legend Roy Keane has come out in support of Paul Pogba after the Frenchman again came under more criticicsm for his performance against Sevilla in the Champions League. The Irishman believes that Pogba is being wrongly condemned and is being used as a scapegoat for their sub-par performances by Manchester United fans and manager Jose Mourinho.

Pogba was benched on Wednesday for thei first leg of Manchester United's Round of 16 clash against Sevilla but had to come on early after Ander Herrera was taken off due to an injury, This was the second time in four games that Mourinho opted to leave United's record signing on the bench.

The former Juventus man has been criticised heavily for his performances in recent time with the Frenchman not being at his best in the games aganst Tottenham and Newcastle in the Premier League. 

Keane, however, feels that two other United stars should also come under the scanner for the side's shortcomings in recent times and be held reponsible for the same.

'Pogba is a really good player,' the Irishman told ITV.

'He is under a lot of pressure at the moment, there is a lot of speculation about him, he was left out tonight – but you'd still have him in your starting XI.

'Off the field, he has a big personality – social media, his haircuts, the cars he drives, he needs to bring that on the pitch.

'But United's problems aren't just with Pogba.

'Lukaku needs to do more, Sanchez has got to do better, they need to reinvest in some defenders.

'You can't keep pointing the finger at Pogba, but the lad has got to do better.'

United will now look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League but the task doesn't get any easier as a buaoyant Chelsea come for a visit this Sunday.
