CONFIRMED: Arsene Wenger was approached by Real Madrid

After announcing his resignation from Arsenal a few days ago, Arsene Wenger will apparently have no shortage of work offers from the football fraternity, according to former Arsenal chief executive David Dein.

Dein revealed that he has already received calls from a few people asking whether they could speak to the Frenchman.

“He will have no shortage of offers,” Dein said.

“I personally had calls from various people yesterday, saying, can I speak to him? He won't be short of offers from clubs.

He also added that Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid approached the French legend over the last few years and it all depends on whether he would want to do the job or not.

“Over the last few years, he has been approached by some of the biggest clubs in the world, Real Madrid, Paris St-Germain, the national team wanted him at one stage.

“The question is will he want to do it anymore. It's getting more and more difficult. It's a bit of a pressure cooker.”

Arsene Wenger joined Arsenal from Monaco in the 1996-97 season and is the longest standing active manager of a club in the Premier League. The former Strasbourg manager won the Premier League titles three times with Arsenal in his long tenure.

It is, however, in the FA Cup where he stood out as he has won the title seven times – a record for any manager in the history of the competition.

The 68-year-old has been linked with PSG and Everton by the press with uncertainty looming over his future at this point in time.
