Triple H unveils new championship belts

WWE COO Triple H and the general manager of NXT's United Kingdom brand, Johnny Saint unveiled the latest Championship belts in WWE, the NXT UK Tag Team Championships. The incident took place at WWE's NXT United Kingdom tapings in Plymouth, England over the last weekend.

The NXT UK brand premieres this week on the WWE Network just hours before the October 17 episodes of NXT and 205 Live.

On June 18, 2018, during the first night of the United Kingdom Championship Tournament, the United Kingdom Women's Championship, along with the United Kingdom Tag Team Championship, was announced for WWE's NXT UK brand.

No other information was given with regards to the UK Tag Team Championship but it is expected that a new champion will be crowned in the coming days

A couple of years ago, in a bid to make WWE a global brand, Triple H announced the first ever WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament in England and a new champion would be crowned at the event to determine the very best of the best when it came to the talents in the region.

A lot of local talents, who were doing well in the independent circuit, took part in the tournament and Tyler Bate, a 19-year-old, was crowned the champion by beating Pete Dunne.

Following his win over Dunne, the duo had a great rivalry and put on two classic matches with Dunne eventually winning the title. Since then, the Bruiserweight has been doing a good job as a champion as he has been defending the title inside WWE and in the indie circuits as well.

As of now, his title reign has gone past the 500-day mark and he will be putting his title on the line against Noam Dar on the upcoming premiere episode Of NXT UK.

Apart from this match, the likes of NXT UK Women's Champion Rhea Ripley, the woman Rhea beat to win the NXT UK Women's Championship, Toni Storm etc. are likely to be a part of the tapings.
