Dean Ambrose
Right after the 2017 TLC PPV, former WWE champion Dean Ambrose suffered a triceps injury and was ruled out for nearly nine months. What made the injury worse was Ambrose nearly died after an infection was discovered, leaving him hospitalised for a week.
There was a lot of excitement for his return as it was expected that he will return as a heel and feud with Seth Rollins. On the go-home show of WWE SummerSlam, Ambrose returned to WWE to be in Seth Rollins’ corner for his Intercontinental championship match against Dolph Ziggler (with Drew McIntyre in his corner).
He helped Seth win the title and the next day, he, along with Seth, brought back The Shield when they teamed up with Roman Reigns to eliminate Braun Strowman, who was threatening to cash in his MITB contract on Roman.
After a lot of teasing, Ambrose turned on Seth the night Roman announced that he is taking a sabbatical to treat Leukaemia. Currently, his is feuding against Seth Rollins and will take him on in a Steel Cage match at TLC for the IC title.
