WWE Smackdown Results 30th July 2019

WWE SmackDown 30th July started off with Shane McMahon appearing on stage and stating that he would remain absent for the show but was anticipating defeating Kevin Owens at WWE SummerSlam 2019. KO responded to this but Drew McIntyre slammed him for talking too much and attacked him, throwing him right over the announcements table.

Match 1- Kevin Owens vs. Drew McIntyre.

With this dramatic start to WWE SmackDown on 30th July, 2019, the first match was indeed between Drew McIntyre and Kevin Owens. Kevin Owens was initially pummelled by Drew however he regained control with a cannonball and giant Frogsplash. He dispatched McIntyre from the turnbuckle, hitting a senton prior to a couple of super kicks and a pop-up power bomb. When he went up on the ropes, McIntyre joined him up there and slammed him. Drew then put him on the announcement table and Owens hit a Stunner on the table instead. Once back in the ring, Kevin Owens hit another Super kick and stunner before getting the pinfall.

Winner- Kevin Owens

Highlight– Dolph Ziggler let out some steam on Goldberg, Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley before stating that he was about to attack Finn Balor. Aleister Black said that he was waiting for a new challenge with someone.

Match 2- Bayley & Ember Moon vs. Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss

Bayley ultimately dispatched Alexa Bliss from the ring when Nikki Cross got in her way. Ember Moon then took out Cross before Bayley had Alexa Bliss dispatched into the barricade. Bayley was stuck in the apron while Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross were beating her up. Ember Moon then came in and sent them both into the corners, hitting an Eclipse on Nikki Cross. Alexa Bliss hit her with the Twisted Bliss and got the pinfall.

Winner- Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross

Highlight- Sami Zayn started attacking Aleister Black verbally, stating his intention to beat him up and how he will never live up to all the hype surrounding him. Jerry the King Lawler came on for the King’s Court and called Trish Stratus as his guest. Stratus expressed her disappointment at missing the RAW Reunion. Charlotte Flair came out and accused Trish of excusing herself from a match stating that she was a mom. Trish ultimately accepted a challenge match at SummerSlam with Charlotte.

Match 3- Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler

Balor was aggressive initially although Ziggler was equally competitive. Ziggler was hit by the Enzuguri although he managed to kick out but got another bug dropkick, falling outside the ring. The arena was dark and the Fiend appeared within the ring but vanished. Ziggler then hit the Sweet Chin Music and got the pinfall.

Winner- Dolph Ziggler.

Match 4- Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ali

Ali hit Nakamura with a Super kick but he took time to get up the ropes and the reverse exploder suplex came at him from Nakamura. The champion was however stopped in his tracks by Ali’s super kick although he rolled out of Ali’s top rope finisher. He wanted to hit the Kinshasa but Ali rolled him up for a swift pin.

Winner- Ali.

Highlight– Randy Orton came on a promo stating that Kofi had attained success due to him and how he injured Ali prior to WrestleMania. The New Day also said how they were not afraid of AJ Styles or the Viper and called SmackDown the POP (Palace of Positivity) and not the house built by AJ Styles.

Match 5- AJ Styles vs. Kofi Kingston

Kofi Kingston was knocked down by AJ Styles and he countered. Styles had a single-leg takedown countered by a Trouble in Paradise which missed its mark. Styles faced a clothesline outside the ring although Kofi was stopped by Gallows & Anderson. Kingston attempted to jump to pound Styles but was caught midway. Both the New Day and OC were at ringside and a fight broke out between the teams, helping Styles cash in on the opportunity while Kofi went into the timekeeper’s area.

Styles was hit by a DDT from Kingston and an SOS and was about to get the pinfall when AJ Styles was dragged out by the OC. However, the OC was taken out by the New Day while Kofi ultimately hit Styles with the Trouble in Paradise for the victory.

Winner- Kofi Kingston.

The New Day wiped out the OC outside the ring while Kofi hit the Trouble in paradise for the win.

Highlight- Roman Reigns was going for an interview with Kayla when suddenly a forklift filled to the brim with stage equipment dropped right onto him. His escape was a miracle and he avoided being put out by the huge beams made of steel and walked out unscathed. Who could have orchestrated this attack? Only time will tell.
