Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch could battle in WrestleMania 35

It wasn’t the best of news for fans waiting to see Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch in action as the Survivor series match between the wrestling divas was called off. However, reports suggest that the battle between Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch could be postponed to next year’s WrestleMania.

According to Give Me Sport, the publisher and editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer claims that the Furious 7 star and Lynch will battle out their rivalry at the main event of WrestleMania on April 7 at the MetLife Stadium in New York.

The Survivor Series bout was scheduled this Sunday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. But the Smackdown Women’s Champion suffered a broken face and a concussion when she led the blue brand’s women’s division to a successful invasion on RAW last Monday night, leaving the RAW Women’s Champion alone. Lynch, however, has picked former rival Charlotte Flair as her replacement for the Ronda bout.

Should the news of their WrestleMania bout come true, it’ll be the first time that two female professional wrestlers will ever headline Mania. Their feud has sparked such an intense reaction that fans will be crazy to see the Smackdown Women’s champion take on the RAW Women’s champion in WrestleMania next year. The report claimed that the decision was jointly taken by Rousey as well as WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon following the number of eyeballs their rivalry has attracted.

Although plans look set, it totally depends on the WWE doctors clearing Lynch to fight again. It also means that Lynch would eventually lose her Smackdown crown as Champion vs Champion Match at the Showcase of the Immortals seems quite unlikely. Lynch’s injuries and lack of matches could strip her off the crown.
Lynch could win her second ever Women’s Royal Rumble Match next year on January 27 at the Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona and would give her the chance to challenge any women’s champion of her choosing.

The Irishwoman surged popularity charts after stunningly destroying Ronda Rousey despite her face bleeding. She put together an invasion on RAW as she took out Rousey with the Dis-Arm-Her as well as three chair shots and also ripped the red brand’s women’s division to shreds with her Smackdown team-mates.

Despite her match being called off, Lynch continued the war with heated arguments with Ronda Rousey over Social Media. Lynch also maintained her stance after repeatedly stating that she will do whatever she can to face the first ever UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion.
