Major update on Edge’s appearance on SmackDown 1000

Last week, it was announced that the Rated-R Superstar Edge will be making an appearance on SmackDown Live's 1000th episode which will go on-air from the Capital One Arena in Washington DC on October 16. Following the last episode of SmackDown, WWE.com revealed that Edge would return to host a special edition of 'The Cutting Edge' next Tuesday as part of the historic episode.

Now, there are numerous reports that the WWE Hall of Famer's appearance could be in jeopardy as WWE.com is no longer advertising the talk show segment as taking place.

The announcement now redirects to the 'Shows' page and Edge, whose appearance was previously confirmed, is not otherwise advertised for SmackDown 1000 by WWE.com or the official website of the Capital One Arena, which is the venue for the show.

Even in the preview for the show posted on WWE.com, there was no mention of Edge which leads to speculations that he might not be a part of the episode that features a lot of legendary wrestlers.

WWE have already announced a number of Superstars who will be making an appearance on the show. It includes the likes of Torrie Wilson, Michelle McCool, Kane, The Undertaker and most importantly, Batista.

Batista will be making a return to WWE after four years and will not be alone as he will be joined by his Evolution stablemates Ric Flair, Triple H and Randy Orton, who is already a part of the SmackDown roster. This will be the first time the legendary stable will make an appearance on the blue brand.

Also making a return to the company is multiple-time World champion Rey Mysterio. Unlike the other Superstars who will be appearing on the show, Mysterio will return to the company on a full-time basis and will take on the United States champion Shinsuke Nakamura for a place in the WWE World Cup which will be taking place in the WWE Crown Jewel PPV.
