Kurt Angle returns to WWE Raw

WWE Hall of Famer and the General Manager of Raw, Kurt Angle made a surprise return as he disguised himself as The Conquistador to win the Battle Royal by eliminating the constable and the acting GM of the show, Baron Corbin, and sealed his spot in the WWE World Cup, which will be taking place at the WWE Crown Jewel PPV in Saudi Arabia next month.

The qualifying match for the World Cup was set up by Corbin, who booked himself in the Battle Royal with wrestlers from all around the world. With a handful of enhancing talents taking on Corbin, it was expected that the acting GM would qualify for the World Cup.

The moment the Battle Royal got underway, The Conquistador sneaked out of the ring and when Corbin eliminated every other superstar and started celebrating his victory, The Conquistador made his way into the ring, delivered Corbin with three German Suplexes and followed it up with an Angle Slam before eliminating the man who made the match.

Once the Battle Royal is over, The Conquistador removed his mask and revealed his original identity to an energetic crowd in attendance in Chicago.

The return of the only Olympic Gold medallist in WWE caught many by surprise as Angle has been off of TV for a while now as Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon sent Angle on a “vacation” in August before announcing that Baron Corbin would be acting general manager in Angle’s absence.

With this win, Angle became the second wrestler after John Cena to qualify for the WWE World Cup. The six other superstars who will be taking part in the match will be confirmed in the coming days. The Crown Jewel pay-per-view event will be held at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 2nd, 2018 and will be aired live on the WWE Network.
