5 Shocking Matches WWE Could be Planning for Goldberg at SummerSlam

5 shocking matches WWE

It can hardly be denied that Bill Goldberg is amongst the greatest performers that have ever made their presence felt on the squared circle, especially with regard to WWE, the billion dollar company owned by Vince McMahon. Having established a strong reputation in the business over the years, Goldberg is still eager to compete against some of the most formidable superstars. Interestingly, though he has quite a fan following amongst wrestling enthusiasts for being an iconic personality, the audience was quite disappointed by his last encounter with The Undertaker at Super ShowDown. Though in terms of pacing, the match was slated to be slow, who would have thought that the two would connect in such a distressing way!

The match received a lot of adverse responses on social media, so much so that the fans wanted the two legends to hang up their boots. There are high chances of Goldberg following The Undertaker’s route and return back for another outing. The world of WWE wrestling is rife with speculations that WWE wants Goldberg to come back for a clash at the Biggest Party of the Summer. That being said, Dolph Ziggler has been recommended as the perfect pick.

  1. Roman Reigns vs Goldberg: still heading into the Biggest Party of the Summer without an opponent, Roman Reigns can be a suitable challenger to push the envelope against Goldberg. Both the superstars have bene pitted against each other before, but never had a direct fight. Since McMahon would prefer The Big Dog to hog the limelight at the biggest event of the summer, a marquee encounter with The Icon might grab the headlines.
  2. Dolph Ziggler vs. Goldberg: it is unfortunate that while names such as Stone Cold, The Rock, and John Cena have climbed the pinnacles of popularity, others like Dolph Ziggler, Bray Wyatt, and Cesaro are still struggling to gain a foothold in the main roster. Though a veteran in the business, Ziggler is yet to receive the respect he deserves. However, he is expected to be in line for a major push, which was hinted at by his power-packed confrontation with Shawn Michael’s on this week’s SmackDown Live.
  3. The New Daniel Bryan vs Goldberg: the former WWE person is the only one who might manage to stir a buzz around another Goldberg match and make him look like a million bucks. Him challenging The Icon at the SummerSlam would make for some interesting headlines. Also, given that he is quite a versatile performer, he will give Goldberg a run for his money in Toronto, so to say!
  4. Samoa Joe vs Goldberg: the former United States champion, Joe can lend a touch of believability and authenticity to a match with Goldberg. Regular followers of WWE would know that he gets intensely personal with his comments. If he continues his savage personal attacks with Goldberg, it would be quite an entertaining watch.
  5. Drew McIntyre vs Goldberg: his initial run was quite smooth, but his momentum was brought to a cruel halt with his defeat in the hands of Roman Reigns at The Grandest Stage of Them All. Since he does not have a legitimate opponent for Summer Slam, viewers can look forward to a potential clash with Goldberg this summer.

The WWE chiefs may be planning any one of these surprises although a track with Ziggler and Goldberg seems to be in pole position for the moment.
