Doha: In a spectacular show of strength and stamina, the Hassan Ali Alabdulmalik-bred and owned She’s Our Queen yesterday won the Class 2 Thoroughbred Pearl title on turf at Al Rayyan Race Park.
Ivan Rossi rode the Debbie Mountain-trained 4-year-old filly to a 1¼-length win in the 2000m run for F & M.
She’s Our Queen clocked a winning time of 2:05.82 as jockey Rossi picked up the top prize of QR 57,000.
Mahaarat, who had Alberto Sanna in the saddle, and Festive, guided by Ronan Thomas, finished in second and third places respectively in the feature race of the night.
Earlier Al Wasmiyah Farm’s Perfect Empire (Holy Roman Emperor) won the Class 2 Thoroughbred Classic Race with Soufiane Saadi.
Saadi rode the Jassim Ghazali-trained 4-year-old colt to a ¾-length win in the 2000m run for 4-year-olds.
In the seventh race of the day, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Thani’s Off He Goes (Casino Prince) landed the Gr3 Khor Al Adaid Cup honours with jockey Tomas Lukasek in the saddle.
Lukasek rode the Julian Smart-trained 7-year-old gelding to a 3-length win in the 2800m run for 4-year-olds+ TBs.
In the sixth race, Al Bida Racing’s Jabalaly (Moohaajim x Bahati) completed a double landing Al Areeq Cup.
Ronan Thomas rode the Ibrahim Al Malki-trained 5-year-old gelding to a ¾-length win in the mile Class 2 run for Thoroughbreds.
