As a centre-half for Spurs Women, Molly had a remarkable first season, contributing to the team’s highest-ever league position in the Barclays Women’s Super League in 2021/22. However, her journey to becoming a professional footballer at the highest level was not without challenges. In the podcast hosted by Michael Dawson and Senior Club Journalist Paul Miles, Molly candidly shares her experiences of overcoming serious health issues, including anorexia nervosa and depression.

Growing up in Romford, Molly fearlessly played football with boys, undeterred by being the only girl on many occasions. She discusses her early days at various clubs, including Spurs, Charlton, and Arsenal. However, an injury sustained while on England youth duty triggered her battle with anorexia, which led to a dangerous cycle of not eating and excessive exercising. But Molly’s resilience and determination helped her overcome the illness and achieve her dream of playing in the WSL for Reading.

Her journey didn’t end there, as she faced another challenge in the form of depression. With the support of her loved ones and her passion for football, she emerged from this dark period. Representing England at different age groups and playing eight seasons at Reading, Molly eventually joined Spurs Women in 2021.

Today, at 27 years old, she continues to face her struggles but remains in a positive place, surrounded by the right support system. Molly’s mindset and love for football have been instrumental in her journey to recovery and success, and she cherishes the opportunity to be a part of Tottenham.
