Milinkovic-Savic doesn’t have the quality yet – Serbian scout

Lazio midfielder and Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic might be one of the most coveted prospects in the world of football but Serbian scout Goran Milosavljevic thinks that he doesn’t have the quality to play for the Red Devils just yet.

The Serbian international had a great season with Lazio last year but hasn’t been able to pick where he left off so far this season. He also had a below-average World Cup, which is one of the reasons why Goran believes that he may not be ready for a move to England just yet.

“I don’t think so. I think maybe in a few years. At the moment he is not ready, he doesn’t have enough quality,” he said.

“He played at the World Cup and his price went down because of his performance. Physically and quick-thinking need work.

Goran also added that the Lazio star needs to work harder when his team doesn’t have the possession of the ball, citing the example of Steven Gerrard, who played in a similar position to that of Milinkovic-Savic.

“He also needs to work when his team doesn’t have the ball. Steven Gerrard played in the same position and he ran 14km for a game with many sprints.”

Manchester United’s woes so far this season reveal their lack of depth in midfield and defense. It is perhaps for this reason that the Red Devils may have wanted the Serb but the words of his compatriot may very well make the Old Trafford outfit hesitant about the midfielder.

With only 13 points from 8 games so far this season, the Red Devils are currently lingering at number 8 in the Premier League. As a result, Mourinho’s future at the club doesn’t look all too bright at the moment.
