Over the weekend, four promising West Ham United prospects showcased their talents while on loan at their respective clubs.
Nathan Trott’s Vejle BK, who earned promotion last season, faced a tough challenge in their return to the Danish Superliga against reigning champions FC Copenhagen. Despite putting up a strong fight, Vejle suffered a 3-2 defeat, with Trott conceding a second-half penalty by Diogo Gonçalves.
Meanwhile, Krisztián Hegyi, another goalkeeper on loan, made his second pre-season appearance for Stevenage as they secured an impressive 4-0 victory against a Tottenham Hotspur XI. The Hungary U21 international hopes to impress manager Steve Evans and earn a starting spot when Stevenage begins their EFL League One campaign against Northampton Town.
Freddie Potts also had his pre-season debut for Wycombe Wanderers in a goalless draw against Cardiff City. The midfielder is eager to make his EFL League One debut in their opening match against Exeter City.
Lastly, Kamarai Swyer embarked on his loan journey with EFL League Two club Crawley Town and was quickly involved in their final pre-season fixture against Bromley.
These young talents will be looking to gain valuable experience and make a positive impact during their loan spells, with the hope of returning to West Ham United as improved and more seasoned players.
