Undoubtedly, Erling’s goals have been a major factor in City winning the Champions League, FA Cup and Premier League to complete the Treble.
He achieved his 52 tally in just 53 games, assisting nine more for his team-mates in an outstanding debut campaign in English football.
Pushing Norwegian star all the way was the supplier of many of his goals, Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian finished runner-up in the poll and so won’t be recording a Club record fifth win this season having equalled Richard Dunne’s total of four.
KDB won it in 2017/18, 2019/20, 2020/21 and 2021/22 and will no doubt challenge strongly again next year.
Congratulations to Erling from everyone connected to Manchester City.
Thanks to the thousands of City fans who took part in both the long list and shortlist polls via our Cityzens voting platform!
