In anticipation of World Mental Health Day, the Chelsea Foundation and Mind are collaborating to present the inaugural stadium stair climb, scheduled to take place at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 7.
This distinctive fundraising initiative aims to raise awareness about mental well-being. Participants will engage in an engaging challenge: completing as many laps of Stamford Bridge and the West Stand as possible within a 90-minute timeframe. Each lap spans around one kilometer and features an elevation gain of 200 feet.
Beyond the physical feat, this exclusive endeavor grants participants a glimpse behind the curtains of Stamford Bridge. They will have the opportunity to explore the inner sanctums of the stadium, including the changing rooms, press room, and various other areas within the iconic home of Chelsea FC. The experience culminates with a walk through the renowned tunnel area.
Reece James, expressing his support, stated, “It’s truly wonderful that the Chelsea Foundation and Mind are coming together for a stadium stair climb at Stamford Bridge in advance of World Mental Health Day. Life presents a multitude of mental challenges, underscoring the importance of nurturing both our mental and physical well-being. This event will provide an excellent chance for fans and those facing mental health struggles to unite in enjoyable physical activity within the hallowed grounds of Chelsea.”
Participation in the event requires a registration fee of £50 and a fundraising objective of £300. Due to limited capacity, spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
