Midfielder Cesare Casadei has successfully finalized a season-long loan transfer to Championship club Leicester City.
Casadei was a member of the Chelsea squad that embarked on a summer tour in America and participated in four of our friendly matches during the tour.
His inclusion in the squad followed an impressive performance in the Under-20 World Cup for Italy. Casadei played a pivotal role in helping his nation secure the runners-up position and was honored with the Golden Ball and Golden Boot awards after scoring seven goals in seven matches.
Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley commented, “This loan arrangement presents Cesare with a fantastic opportunity to continue his development as a promising young footballer. We are eager to witness his progress under the guidance of Enzo Maresca at Leicester and eagerly anticipate observing his ongoing journey.”
Having joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022 from Inter Milan, the 20-year-old midfielder had been a consistent presence in our Under-21 team prior to his loan spell with Reading in January.
Casadei amassed 15 appearances for Reading, an experience that undoubtedly equips him well as he reenters the Championship with Leicester.
Best of luck, Cesare!
