League of Legends Season 2024 Patch 14.1

League of Legends

Welcome to the 2024 League of Legends season! The kickoff of Split 1 is right around the corner, and Patch 14.1 brings a plethora of exciting changes to the game. Brace yourselves for a substantial gameplay update, introducing Voidgrubs, Voidmites, Voidborn Monsters, three distinct Baron Nashor forms, alterations to every lane and jungle, over 100 item adjustments (including new items), a Hwei buff, dynamic music, in-game quests, FIST BUMPS, and much more. This season promises to be a transformative experience for players, marking a significant step forward.

Let’s dive into the Patch Highlights. Dragonmancer Kassadin, Dragonmancer Rakan, Dragonmancer Fiora, Dragonmancer Vayne, and Prestige Dragonmancer Rakan will become available on January 10, 2024, at 19:00 UTC. Ranked Season 2024 kicks off with Split 1, bringing ranked queues to life on January 10th. The regional start times are specified, ensuring players around the world can join the competitive action seamlessly.

The transition to Season 2024 involves a temporary disabling of ranked queues for a few hours. After the Patch 14.1 update, the queues will be reinstated, and a couple of hours later, Split 1 will officially launch. Importantly, games played during this downtime won’t contribute to the new season progression. Shard transfers will be disabled before the season ends and re-enabled after the distribution of end-of-season rewards.

Speaking of rewards, Victorious Tryndamere awaits those who earned it during the 2023 Split 2 season. This unique skin will be slightly delayed, aiming for inclusion in Patch 14.4. Additional rewards, as outlined in the Ranked Rewards support article, will be delivered in 14.2.

The Void Gameplay Changes are a significant focus of Patch 14.1. A dev blog released earlier offers insight into the void changes, introducing Voidgrubs and Voidmites. The Baron pit will now host these Voidborn creatures instead of the first Rift Herald each game. Voidgrubs, with their unique respawn mechanics, aim to provide tower-pushing pressure evenly across all lanes. The addition of the Hunger of the Void Buff enhances gameplay, introducing strategic elements tied to the number of Voidgrubs slain.

Voidgrubs, spawning at 5 minutes into the game, generate Voidmites in combat, respawn once per game, and grant buffs upon death. The Hunger of the Void Buff, accumulated by killing Voidgrubs, empowers attacks against structures. At 5 stacks, players spawn Voidmites to assist in tower attacks. Voidgrubs despawn at 13:45 in-game time, making way for Rift Herald.

The revamped Rift Herald takes center stage, enhancing the gameplay experience. With Patch 14.1, League of Legends introduces dynamic changes that elevate the strategy and engagement levels for players. Embrace the updates, adapt your tactics, and get ready for an exhilarating 2024 season in the Summoner’s Rift!
