Harmilan’s Goal: Gold at Asian Games
Harmilan expressed that her primary goal was to secure a gold medal at the Asian Games, a target she had diligently prepared for in the preceding months. She acknowledged the support of her team, both physically and psychologically, in her pursuit. While she fell short of the gold, she returned with two silver medals, a remarkable achievement.
Carrying on Her Mother’s Legacy
Notably, Harmilan’s mother, Madhuri Singh, had won a silver medal in the 2002 Busan Asian Games in the 800m event. Harmilan has now followed in her mother’s footsteps, securing her own medals in Hangzhou. The Indian athletics team delivered a stellar performance, amassing 29 medals, including six gold, 14 silver, and nine bronze medals. Their contribution was pivotal in India’s record-breaking medal haul.
