Tottenham star Harry Kane praises Juventus draw but has one big Champions League regret

TOTTENHAM star Harry Kane has praised Spurs' fighting spirit after their 2-2 Champions League draw with Juventus.

Tottenham found themselves two goals down after just 10 minutes after Gonzalo Higuain's early brace.

But Spurs came roaring back with Kane and Eriksen ensuring they leave Turin with two crucial away goals to their name.

And, speaking afterwards, Kane lauded Tottenham's fighting spirit – but rued his failure to send them home with a win.

'We could have done [capitulated], away from home in the Champions League. It showed character,' he said.

'It was an excellent performance after that and we take two away goals to Wembley. Great result.

'I should have scored the header but you have to be ready for the next one and I finished it off.'

Eriksen's clever free-kick made it a night to remember for Tottenham fans.

And the Denmark international admitted the result means Spurs will go into the return leg full of confidence.

'We are sure we will have chances at Wembley,' he said.

'We go into that game full of confidence and we’re looking forward to it.'

''

Meanwhile, BBC Sport pundit Chris Waddle thought Tottenham were the better team.

'For 80 minutes Tottenham were the better team,' he said.

'Gonzalo Higuain had chances but didn’t take them.

'Let’s be honest, Tottenham played all the football, were constantly in the Juventus’ half, and could have scored two more.

'They were by far the better side over 90 minutes.'
