Real Madrid on the verge of losing Luka Modric – Reports

Things are going from bad to worse for Real Madrid in this transfer window. The Spanish giants are losing one star after the other and are not able to land the players they want.

It all started with Zinedine Zidane leaving and then Cristiano Ronaldo dropped the bomb by informing the club that he wants to leave. He joined Juventus for €105 million the Los Blancos are still hunting for his replacement.

Luka Modric is latest to leave the club according to Di Marzio. The midfielder will 'exercise' the gentlemen agreement he had with Perez to leave.

Di Marzio claims that the midfielder had a deal with Perez that would see him leave the club when he won the fourth Champions League title. The president, however, is doing all he can to keep hold of the Croat.

“Modric is not leaving Real Madrid. He is not leaving unless someone pays the 750 million euros of his release clause and not a euro less.” said the president when asked if Modric has any chance of leaving the club.

Reports claim that he has already reached an agreement with Inter Milan on his contract and commission. The Croatian wants to take up a fresh challenge and is looking to leave the club as per recent rumours.

Inter Milan have a host of Croatian already with Sime Vrsaljko joining them earlier this summer. Ivan Perisic and Marcelo Brozovic are already at the club for a long time.

The Serie A side were close to signing Arturo Vidal from Bayern Munich after agreeing a deal with the Bundesliga side. He was scheduled to head to Italy for a medical, but Barcelona made a late swoop and signed him.

That forced Milan to look elsewhere, and they have now set sights on signing Modric from Real Madrid.
