Real Madrid News: Ronaldo left three people silent after sparking PSG Champions League win

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo again proved  why he is considered the king of Champions League as he netted a brace to help his side to a 3-1 thumping of PSG at the Bernabeu on Wednesday. And in doing so, he also proved a point to three people.

The Blancos have struggled in La Liga and Ronaldo has come under heavy criticism for his lack of goals in the league. The 33-year-old however silenced his crtitics, again, as helped Real put one foot in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Everyone feared the worst for the defending champions when Adrien Rabiot put the Parisians in front. However, a spirited performance from the likes of Marcelona and Ronaldo pulled Madrid back – eventually helpiing them seal the tie.

And according to reports from Spanish outlet Diario Gol, his heroics have helped Ronaldo silenced three people who had written him off.

The first of the reported trio was Isco.

The Spanish midfielder was given the opportunity to start ahead of a fit-again Gareth Bale despite reports suggesting that the Portuguese star had asked Real Madrid manager Zidane to give him the axe. Isco, however, failed to justify his inclusion and had little influence in the proceedings.

Another person whose mouth was sealed was Neymar who is reportedly looking forward to join Real Madrid in 2019. However, based on the showing at the Bernabeu, the Brazil stalwart still has some ways to go.

Ronaldo, even at 33 just showed why he still is considered as the top dog.

Another person who would be forced into reconsidering things according to Dario Gol would be Real president Florentino Perez.

Perez has been reluctant to hand Ronaldo a new contract in view of his inconsistancies in La Liga. This has sparked new rumours that Ronaldo may be forced out at the Spanish capital with Neymar being the likely replacement for the Portuguese in the long run.

This performance, would however make Ronaldo's case for a new deal a much stronger one. Given that both Neymar and Lionel Messi both have had new deals handed out to them, Ronaldo will look for a similar treatment from his employers after virtually putting Real in the driver's seat to get into the last eight of the Champions League.

PSG will certainly look to upset the applecarts in the return leg. However, based on the showing on Wednesday, it will be a long and arduous task for Unay Emery and his men.
