Police suspect Argentina’s loss in World Cup the reason for suicide in India
A vehement and diehard supporter of Argentina and their captain, Lionel Messi, sadly committed suicide after his team’s shock defeat to Croatia, reported Kerala police. They supposedly claimed that he went missing since June 21st from his house in a small village called Arumanoor in Kerala.
Dinu Alex, 30, left a suicide note in his room before leaving home. According to him, there was nothing left in this world for him to see or witness. He also stated that nobody was responsible for his death. It partly read, “I have nothing left to see. I’m going deep into deaths.”
After some checking of his belongings at his residence, Police found out a piece of his love for Lionel Messi. A scribbled note on his book stated, “Messi, my life is for you, waiting to see you lift the Cup.”
In another book, he had written, “My team is starting its journey, carrying my life…”
His body was found a couple of days later, as the Kerala Police were forced to halt their investigation due to heavy rain. Apparently, Alex’s body was seen at a place near Illickal Bridge, in Meenachil river.
His disheartened friends along with his father agreed to the fact that he was a passionate supporter. They also told that seemingly, he was optimistic about Argentina’s hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages.
La Albiceleste were stunned by a resolute Iceland defence which held them to a 1-1 draw in their opener. Following that outing, the two-time World Cup champions suffered one of the heaviest defeats in their history at the hands of Croatia.
Messi and co. had no answers and one could experience a sense of confusion and disharmony in their camp. They still have an outside chance of qualification albeit, if they overcome Nigeria in their final game and if other results go their way.
