Pogba blasts Mourinho’s methods

Paul Pogba has urged his Manchester United teammates to be more ruthless and clinical in front of goal. The midfielder wants the forwards to attack more at Old Trafford, give the fans more to cheer about and improve their attitude.

After a run of three consecutive victories against Burnley, Watford and Young Boys, United returned to Old Trafford to entertain a brave Wolverhampton Wanderers side. Yet again, they stumbled to a 1-1 draw after taking the lead as early as the 18th minute.

Despite the resurgence they have illustrated in recent weeks, the Red Devils haven’t been prolific at home. They were thumped 3-0 by Spurs and only managed to edge past Leicester City in the season’s opener. Old Trafford, a place that almost every team in the world feared traveling to, is now a mere home stadium for the English giants.

Pogba suggested that his side had to be more daunting and authoritative in the way they went about their business.

'When we are at home we should attack, attack, attack. That's Old Trafford,' said Pogba after the draw against Wolves.

'We are at home and we should play much better against Wolves. We are here to attack. I think teams are scared when they see Manchester United attacking and attacking. That was our mistake,' he demanded.

Pogba, who provided a sublime assist for Fred’s goal added that United need to press more and portray higher energy levels.

The World Cup winner elucidated: 'Maybe the attitude should be better and we should play better because, again, we are at Old Trafford and we should just attack and press like we did against Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal last season. When we play like this it's easier for us.'

Manchester United are already playing catch-up with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea as they sit on 7th place with 10 points from six matches. They host Derby County in the Carabao Cup in midweek, before travelling to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United.
