Chelsea have set sights on signing Anthony Martial this summer as per talkSPORT. The French forward is reportedly desperate to leave Manchester United this summer.
The Blues are looking for a replacement for Willian who has been the subject of heavy speculations this summer. Barcelona were said to be really keen on the Brazilian and according to reports, had three bids rejected for him before they went for Malcom.
The Londoners were reportedly not keen on letting the former Shakhtar star move without finding a replacement. Martial is said to be their #1 pick right now.
United, however, are not interested in negotiating with The Blues or any other club for the Frenchman.
Jose Mourinho has insisted that he wants to keep the forward at Old Trafford and does not see him leaving this summer. Talking to the media about Martial’s potential sale, Mourinho said, “I would like to be in Los Angeles now and I am in San Jose. You cannot do whatever you want in life. I would love to arrive in Los Angeles, to train in Los Angeles and play all my five matches in Los Angeles, and then don't travel, don't change hotel and then go back to Manchester.”
Martial is said to be unhappy with Mourinho, his tactics and the amount of game time he got at United last season. But despite all that, he has been fighting for his place and playing as a left winger whenever called on.
Apart from Chelsea, Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in signing the former AS Monaco star this summer. The German champions are said to see him as the ideal long-term replacement for Frank Ribery and are looking to secure a deal.
Some reports suggest that Chelsea were looking to use Mourinho’s interest in Willian in getting Martial to Stamford Bridge.
