Manchester United tells two midfielder they can leave – Reports

Manchester United midfielders Juan Mata and Ander Herrera will be allowed to leave the club if they wish to do so according to reports from Spanish media house Marca. Whilst Mourinho doesn’t fancy selling the duo, the report suggests that the manager would not stand in the way if they were to request a move in the summer and the players have been notified as such.

The Portuguese has expressed his displeasure at his squad time and again in the recent past and it is believed that the Red Devils will splash the cash again this coming summer.

The report further suggests that Mourinho will be looking to strengthen the midfield and defence. The former Chelsea manager seems to be content with his arsenal up front after the signing of Alexis Sanchez in the summer.

Mourinho has come out in the open to criticise his players and even the club’s record in recent times and his show of displeasure continued even after his team knocked out Brighton in the FA Cup.

'A few other guys, I saw them scared to play. I cannot say much more. It is a relation with personality, is a relation to trust, is a relation to class.

'When the sun is shining and everything goes well, you win matches, you score goals, everything goes in your direction, every player is a good player and wants to play and wants the ball and looks amazing and is confident.

'When it is dark and cold, and in football that means a period of bad results or a bad result, not everybody has the confidence and personality to play really.

'To be on the pitch and touch the ball every five minutes, everyone can do it, but to be on the pitch and say 'give me the ball because I want to play', not everyone can do that,' stated the Manchester Unitedd boss after the game.

This news comes only a few months after Juan Mata signed a new deal to stay at Old Trafford till 2019. The former Chelsea man, has, however not been a regular starter in the team of late.

It is believed that United also triggered a clause in Herrera’s clause which results in him extending his stay at the club. The former Bilbao man, however, has found himself out of favour in the recent past and a move away will surprise many.
