Manchester United set to fight Barcelona for defender as midfielder plans exit

Manchester United are set to fight Barcelona for the signature of highly-rated youngster Alvaro Odriozola. The young right-back is reported to be highly thought of by Jose Mourinho and the ‘Special One’ is said to consider him as a long-term solution to replace Antonio Valencia at the position.

Mourinho is looking to getting ready to lay-off Matteo Darmian – who has failed to find favour with the manager and a move back to Italy looks to be on the cards for the former Torino man. With Valencia moving towards the wrong side of 30, the Red Devils will look for some cover at the position.

The 13-times Premier League winners are said to be keen on bolstering their backline and 22-year-old looks to be one the prime candidates to do so.

If reports from The Mirror are to be believed, Barcelona are close on the heels of Manchester United and are said to be admirers of Odriozola as well. Accroding to the report, the La Liga leaders have also turned a keen eye towards the defender with the Catalans looking to provide Sergi Roberto and Nelson Semedo with more competition.

In fact, it is being rumoured that even Real Madrid could be in with a sniff to haul the talented defender to the Bernabeu

Goodbye Fellaini?

United, on the other hand are said to be bracing to lose their Beligan midifielder Marouane Fellaini this coming summer. Having started only three Premier League games and appeared in 12, the former Everton man is thought to have become disillusioned by the lack of opportunities.

Fellaini, who will be out of contract in a few months turned down a new deal and it looks like he might be headed to Turkish giants Beskitas this summer.

It is thought that the 30-year-old will join Turkish side Besiktas.

Clubs in Serie A and La Liga are also believed to be vying for his signature.
