Manchester United Set Gigantic Pogba Asking Price

Manchester United have set a staggering asking price of more than £200 million for Paul Pogba. The Frenchman is expected to leave in January due to a rough relationship with manager Jose Mourinho.

After the historic World Cup win back in July, Pogba was linked to a host of suitors, mainly Barcelona. A disastrous start to the season with Manchester United and his criticism of Mourinho’s defensive tactics led to a clash of egos. Last season, Pogba had admitted he was dissatisfied at Old Trafford.

Matters worsened when Mourinho called for more concentration and discipline from his star man, after the 1-1 draw versus Wolves. Their relationship was then handed a meaty blow when Pogba questioned the gaffer’s tactics indirectly.

The 25-year-old said, “When we are at home we should attack, attack, attack. That’s Old Trafford. We are here to attack. I think teams are scared when they see Man United attacking and attacking. That was our mistake today.”

In reply to that message, the Portuguese boss stripped Pogba of his vice-captaincy and left him out of the squad that lost to Derby County on penalties in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Although while speaking to Sky Sports he revealed that there was ‘no problem, no fallout’ with the player, many would argue Paul Pogba’s return to his boyhood club will come to an unfitting end very soon.

Mourinho had earlier commented:

'The only truth is that I made the decision for him not to be [the] second captain anymore but there is no fallout, no problem. I am the manager I can make these decisions. No fallout at all, no problem at all, just a decision that I don't have to explain.'

Earlier today in a footage of the training session, Mourinho was seen saying something to Pogba to which the Frenchman reacted with a bemused face.

No one apart from Jose Mourinho knows whether Pogba will feature in Manchester United’s matches in coming weeks. Although his price tag is quite expensive, there are no doubts regarding his undisputed footballing ability.

Pogba and co. will be looking to get back to winning ways and prove a point when they take on West Ham United on Saturday in the Premier League.
