Manchester United reject Barcelona’s bid for Paul Pogba

Manchester United have rejected Barcelona’s bid for Paul Pogba according to Di Marzio. The Sky Italia journalist claims that the Catalan side made an offer of £45m plus Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

Pogba is reportedly keen on leaving United this summer and has attracted interest from Barcelona and Juventus. The Frenchman is said to be ‘unhappy’ with Mourinho’s tactics and is looking to leave Old Trafford.

Reports over the weekend suggested that Pogba had agreed personal terms with Barcelona already. The player was offered the #8 jersey, previously worn by club legend, Andrés Iniesta.

Sky Sports have also reported that Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola arrived in Manchester yesterday to hold talks with the club. He is reportedly trying to push United to sell Pogba to Barcelona this summer.

United, however, have refused to sell him at any cost. In 2016, they spent a then world-record amount of £89 million to sign him from Juventus.

He still has three years left on his current contract and United want him to fulfil it. They are also reportedly ready to offer him a new deal soon.

Barcelona want to take advantage of Pogba’s situation with Mourinho at take him to Camp Nou. The Catalan side are looking to offload Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina this summer and have offered them in a deal to sign Pogba.

Barca see Gomes as a direct replacement for Pogba in United’s squad, and with the Premier League side chasing a centre-back, they have offered Yerry Mina to them. Mourinho was reportedly interested in signing the Colombian defender after being priced out of a move for Harry Maguire.

United have less than 72 hours left for the transfer window to close while Barcelona have another three weeks. They are bound to make several moves for Pogba before the window closes, but United are expected to rebuff all bids.
