Manchester United News: Fans start Go Fund Me account to raise £12 million to sack Jose Mourinho

Manchester United fans it seems are extremely disillusioned with Jose Mourinho, his playing style and transfer activity. They have gone to extreme lengths to try and make sure the Portuguese does not remain at the helm much longer, starting a Go Fund Me account to raise funds for his sacking.

It was reported earlier that in order to sack Mourinho, United would have to shell out £12 million and the fans have taken matters into their own hands in that regard.

A resident of Belfast, Frank Agyeman, created the page, which has been shared numerous times as of the time of writing. However, not a penny was raised which led to a debate whether Mourinho should actually be sacked by the club or not.

Nace Korosec stated: “With who would you replaced him, with Zidane? Mourinho is the best manager for United at this moment.”

Josh Flynn meanwhile, came up with this tweet: “Actually seeing United fans putting together GoFundMe accounts to sack Mourinho, classic meltdown in the making here.”

The Portuguese has two years left on his current contract, but will reportedly be paid only for 12 months if he is indeed sacked due to a clause that was inserted into his contract. “The club wanted to avoid a repeat of that [the van Gaal fiasco] again in the future – especially as Jose earns far in excess of what he did. Van Gaal held out for every penny but even United have to draw the financial line somewhere with Jose,” a source close to the club had explained.

However, if does have a successful season – which seems unlikely – he could be handed an extension although it remains to be seen if his relationship with the board improves in the future.
