Manchester United eye Zinedine Zidane as Jose Mourinho’s replacement: Reports

According to a report in The Sun, Manchester United will make a move for Zinedine Zidane if or when Jose Mourinho leaves the club. The former Madrid manager is said to be on top of their list of probable replacements for Mourinho.

Mourinho is unhappy with the club’s transfers so far this summer and has been going on a rant against the Manchester United board. The manager has been begging for signings in his press conferences, and there are fears at the club that he might leave soon.

The Red Devils are reportedly not willing to be left without a backup option and have already started looking his possible replacements. The Sun claims that the United board is not sure if the manager will last the season at Old Trafford.

Mourinho has two years left on his current contract at ManUtd and is just asking for more signings. He also wants his top players, who featured at the World Cup & are on vacation, to come back early and get ready in time for the Premier League 2018/19 kick off. They face Leicester City next Friday (August 10th) – that will be the first game of the 2018/19 season.

Zidane won the Champions League title a precedented three consecutive times despite being Real Madrid's manager for just 2-and-half years. He left the club earlier this summer and is still without a club. Reports suggested that he was close to joining Juventus as their sporting director.

Other reports suggest that he is taking a sabbatical this year and will return to management at the start of the 2019/10 season. Juventus are the favourites right now to have him as their manager next season.

Chelsea were also linked with the former Real Madrid manager while France are also said to be in talks with the legendary footballer.
