Manchester United confident of signing Chelsea winger Willian – Reports

Manchester United are confident of signing Willian according to Sky sources. The Red Devils are doing all they can to land the winger from Chelsea this summer as per the report.

Sky Sports News report that the Brazilan also wants to leave Stamford Bridge. However, they claim that he wishes to leave only if Antonio Conte remains as head coach.

Conte was not expected to come back after the summer break but is currently at Cobham. He has started the pre-season training already but is not likely to last for long at Chelsea.

Maurizio Sarri is close to joining Chelsea after Napoli confirmed that the move is almost complete. The Italian will take over once all the formalities are over between The Blues and the Serie A side.

Willian has two years remaining on his contract, and it is reported that Sarri is keen on working with him. The incoming manager is said to be desperate to keep the Brazilian and Hazard at the club.

There has been no formal offer from Manchester United so far, but still, the Red Devils are confident of landing him. Willian is very close to Jose Mourinho, and the Manchester side hopes to use that to lure him.

Mourinho is in desperate need of a right winger, and Willian fits the bill perfectly. He has worked with him before and just needs to fit him into the starting XI.

The Brazilian is brilliant in attack and also backtracks when needed. That is precisely what Mourinho wants in a player, and it is no surprise that he has been chasing him for over a year now.

Willian has scored 44 goals in 236 appearances for Chelsea since joining the club from Russian side Anzhi in 2013.
