Manchester City star Raheem Sterling makes emotional appeal to help save youngster fighting Leukemia

Raheem Sterling has been criticised a lot by the English media for his off-field things. They have been targeting him for each and everything he down without even thinking twice.

The player, however, has paid no heed to it and continued to live his life to the fullest and help others around him. Today, he issued an emotional appeal on his Facebook page to get help for a sick 12-year-old. He is trying to find a life-saving donor.

According to the post, Damary Dawkins, a 12-year-old is fighting Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia for the last three years. It is a rare cancer of the blood and bone marrow, and the doctors have confirmed that the youngster's last hope is through stem cell treatment.

Guys this is serious, we need to help this kid!

The search for a donor has been unsuccessful so far as they have not found a single registered donor worldwide! Sterling has not given up hope and is hoping that his involvement helps the kid get a donor soon.

Along with a picture of Damary, he posted: 'Guys this is very important we need to help this kid…Please read below. At only twelve years old Damary Dawkins has been fighting Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (a cancer of the blood and bone marrow) since he was nine.”

“Doctors have confirmed his only hope of survival is through stem cell treatment. The worldwide register has no matches for him, the problem here is that there are not enough Afro-Caribbean donors on the register.”

“If you are of Afro-Caribbean descent, please sign up to be a donor, you could be a match for Damary or someone else that needs your help.'

The Englishman is still on holiday after the World Cup and is scheduled to be back for pre-season training this week. The Premier League season is kicking off next weekend.
