Man Utd news: Paul Pogba clashes with Jose Mourinho and demands major change

PAUL POGBA wants Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho to change formation to get the best from him.

Pogba in the middle of a difficult spell for Manchester United after being substituted in two of their last three games and being named on the bench in the other.

The question of how best to use the attack-minded France international has dominated his second spell in English football but Mourinho believes the 24-year-old should be capable of also doing the defensive work he demands.

However, Pogba has been accused of being ill-disciplined by his critics and after his part in Newcastle’s goal in their 1-0 win over Sunday, Mourinho made clear the midfielder was at fault without naming him explicitly.

According to the Daily Record, Pogba would like to play on the left side of a three-man midfield as he believes his impact on games has been diminished by defensive duties.

And it is claimed that Mourinho is unhappy with Pogba’s contribution since Alexis Sanchez joined in January.

Speaking on Sky Sports, pundit Jamie Redknapp said Mourinho was mismanaging Pogba.

”I can't believe we've got to this situation so quickly, because when he got sent off against Arsenal, everyone was rolling out the stats that Manchester United can't play without him,' Redknapp told Sky Sports.

''

'Everyone said that he was indispensable but now everyone is saying he's useless again.

“When things are good, he's the best player in the world. And now because of his price tag he's getting slaughtered. I think Mourinho has a big responsibility with him, it's his job.

“Everyone expects him to be this big confident player, but I think deep down he needs to be loved.

'Taking him off against Tottenham, that's not how you're going to get the best out of him. You can see at Newcastle, his confidence was really low.”
