Liverpool report Mohamed Salah to the Police

Liverpool FC have alerted Merseyside police regarding Mohamed Salah, who was caught using his mobile phone while being stuck in traffic, in a video that went viral on social media. Apparently, even after he accelerated forward, his hands weren’t on the steering wheel for a moment.

If reports from OneFootball are to be believed, Salah will have to pay a fine close to £225 and six points on his license.

According to the UK laws, it is illegal to use a cell phone while driving, even if one is at a right light or stuck in traffic.

This footage was leaked after Liverpool’s 4-0 victory over West Ham, when Salah was driving back. He was surrounded by young fans who wanted his attention, but the sharpshooter drove forward without taking his eyes off the phone.

“The club, after discussion with the player, have made Merseyside Police aware of the footage and the circumstances surrounding its capture,” a club spokesman stated. “We have spoken to the player also and will deal with any follow-up internally. Neither the club or player will be making any further comment on this matter,” he added.

“We have been made aware of a video believed to show a footballer using a mobile phone whilst driving,” said Merseyside police, also claiming that the issue had been passed to the relevant department.

This incident has ignited heated arguments between Salah’s haters and admirers. While the former believe that he was arrogant towards his fans, his supporters argue that he wanted his privacy.

The 26-year-old took off from where he left last season when he scored his side’s first goal of the term on Sunday. The Reds travel to Selhurst Park on to take on Crystal Palace, who collected three points last weekend too, as they beat Fulham 2-0.
