Karim Benzema creates La Liga history

In their last LaLiga game against Leganes, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema did something that neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo has done in their careers as he became the first player to score against every single team he has played against in the Spanish top division football.

After scoring two goals against Girona last week, Benzema registered yet another brace against Leganes last night. First, he placed a header into the left corner but the opposition players alleged that the Frenchman had fouled one of their defenders when he connected the header. But, the VAR replays confirmed that there was no foul intended by the Frenchman and the goal stood. A few minutes later, he scored his second, thanks to a brilliant work from Luka Modric and Benzema did well to put the ball into the bottom right corner to make it 3-1.

With this, he has taken his tally to four goals in just three matches, his fastest to score four league goals since joining the club. He also overtook Cristiano Ronaldo's record of scoring against 32 different LaLiga teams as Leganes is the 33rd team Benzema has scored against.

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi leads the list having scored against 36 different teams in LaLiga during his career followed by Athletic Bilbao's Aritz Aduriz and Real Madrid legend Raul (both 35) but they are yet to score against all the teams they have played against.

Ever since making his debut for Real Madrid way back in 2009, Benzema has been playing together with Cristiano Ronaldo, who was signed in the same window as Benzema, and played the second fiddle to him till the Portuguese winger was at the club. Now that the former number 7 has left the club and joined Juventus, the fans are seeing a different version of Karim Benzema.
