Jurgen Klopp to Real Madrid: Sky Sports pundit analyses surprise Liverpool switch

LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp has been linked with taking over the manager’s job at Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane has been under mounting pressure this season because Real Madrid sit fourth in the table and crashed out of the Copa del Rey.

However, the Frenchman is expected to save his skin if his side can knock Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League – where they currently have a 3-1 first-leg advantage.

But Zidane may still decide to walk away from the Bernabeu even if Los Blancos lift the European trophy.

A number of managers have been linked with taking over the Real hot seat, but Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague does not think the Liverpool boss will be the one to do so.

“Jurgen Klopp has even been mentioned,” Balague told Sky Sports.

“Klopp will stay at Liverpool though because he's somebody that wants to stay for seven years at Anfield as we read in the Raphael Honigstein book.

“That means Real will have to look elsewhere.”

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has also been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish capital.

As has Germany national team boss Joachim Low – but Balague explains that each one comes with their own problems.

''

“Everybody in Spain is mentioning Mauricio Pochettino but I keep saying it just doesn't make sense,” Balague added.

“He's taking Tottenham into a new stadium and a new era.

“There's a plan there and of course he has no buyout clause so Real would have to convince Daniel Levy to let him go. It doesn't make much sense in my eyes.

“There's Joachim Low, for instance, but I'm not sure the German Football Federation would let him go.”
