Historic low for Germany following their 3-0 loss against The Netherlands

Last night, The Netherlands, who are going through a transition phase, sent a strong message to their rivals as they humiliated Germany 3-0 in a UEFA Nations League game at the Amsterdam Arena in Amsterdam.

The game was a historic one for Joachim Low as he overtook Sepp Herberger's record for most matches as Germany manager. Low, who has been the manager of the Die Mannschaft since the end of 2006 FIFA World Cup, has managed the team on 168 occasions and was very influential in them winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

But, the historic night for the German was ruined by the Dutch as Virgil van Dijk, Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum scored goals to help their team get the better of Germany.

This win is a historic one for the Netherlands as this is their highest victory margin for them against their neighbours (they have never won a game against the Germans by a margin of three or more goals).

Following the defeat, Germany have registered two dubious records. First, Germany have now failed to score in three straight competitive games for the first time in their history.

After Toni Kroos' late equalizer against Sweden in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, they lost 2-0 to South Korea in the final league game to get knocked out of the competition and were held to a 0-0 draw by the eventual World Champions France in the Nations League before losing 3-0 to the Dutch.

In between, they beat Peru 2-1 in a friendly. They will look to not take the streak to four when they take on France again in Paris next week.

The other one is Germany have lost five matches in 2018 to equal their record of most defeats in a single calendar year. The last time it happened was when they were playing Football as West Germany.
