De Gea Helps Team-mate Check Up On Luke Shaw

England and Spain faced off each other in their opening match of the inaugural UEFA Nations League. It was an entertaining match as such barring an incident that would have surely worried the English fans.

Luke Shaw, who had returned to the national side for the first time in almost three years, suffered yet another injury in the second half. Shaw ran into Dani Carvajal whilst looking to win an aerial duel.

However, the Manchester United fullback fell down in immense pain after an awkward concussion with Carvajal. He required a stretcher to be taken off from the ground and was even given an oxygen mask, as Shaw was unable to recover for almost five minutes after the clash.

Accordingly, a new report from Marca states that Carvajal asked David de Gea, who is Shaw’s teammate at United too, to provide him the former Southampton player’s contact number.

He wanted to apologize to Shaw and the same report states that the Manchester United left-back thanked him for his concern, whilst claiming that there were no hard feelings between the pair.

Shaw had started the Premier League season brilliantly for United and he was arguably their best player in these first four matches. The 23-year-old has even registered a goal and an assist for United so far this season.

He even assisted Marcus Rashford for England’s goal in the 11th minute, quickly receiving the ball from Harry Kane near the midway line and then charging ahead before delivering an incisive pass for Rashford.

There were major doubts regarding Shaw’s injury, however, there were reports during the match itself that he had somewhat recovered and was on his phone after a minor period of concern.

Shaw calmed the air surrounding the incident too.

He tweeted, ‘’Thank you for all the love and support I am doing fine and am in the best hands.”

“I’m a fighter so I will be back soon!”
