Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus is already done: Moggi

The rumours of Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid have resurfaced, but this time, it does seem to be serious. Moreover, former Juventus CEO Luciano Moggi has reportedly claimed that Ronaldo has already signed for the Turin-based club.

Reports had emerged that Juventus have made an £88 million pounds bid for Ronaldo, who reportedly seems to be intent on leaving Madrid after spending nine fruitful seasons with the Spanish giants.

And now, Moggi has come out and stated that the deal between Real and Juventus is seemingly in an advanced stage. He quipped that he has talked to important people regarding this and went on to claim that he had knowledge of Ronaldo having completed a medical with the Serie A champions at Munich.

Moggi was the all-important culprit of sorts in the Calciopoli, which literally shook the Italian football back in 2006. His involvement in this scandal saw him being banned for life from football.

The former CEO recollected a story of him trying to sign Cristiano whilst the Portuguese was a teenager and plied his trade in Sporting CP. The Juventus board had prepared a deal that involved Chilean forward Marcelo Salas moving to Sporting in a swap deal.

Moggi was apparently impressed with the former Manchester United man’s talent, decision-making ability and maturity at the age of 18 and even offered 5 million more than Manchester United in 2003.

Unfortunately, from Juventus’ perspective, Salas refused to agree to move to the Portuguese club as he was keen to return to River Plate.

Eventually, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side was able to lure Ronaldo to Old Trafford following his brilliant display against the Red Devils in a friendly match in their pre-season tour.

Ronaldo has long been touted to leave the European champions, and even sparked these rumors in his interview just after the Champions League finals this time around. Moggi’s claims seem to be interesting, but the eventual truth regarding the whole saga remains to be seen.
