Cristiano Ronaldo: Real Madrid superstar makes surprise career claim

REAL MADRID superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has made a surprising claim about his career.

The Real Madrid striker has won everything there is possible in the game.

With four Champions League winners’ medals as well as La Liga titles and the Premier League during his spell at Manchester United, the Portuguese rightly deserves his place among the pantheon of greats.

Although Ronaldo has already won five Ballon d’Ors and has rivalled Lionel Messi to be crowned the best player on the planet, the 33-year-old doesn’t think about the accolade in the same way he used to.

“I never dreamt of winning five Ballons d'Or,' Ronaldo told Youtube channel Desimpedidos.

'But if my career had to end now, I would do so very happily.

“I’ve won everything. Of course I would be delighted to win one two or three more Ballons d'Or but if I don't, I've already won five.

'It's obviously my ambition and I still have the capacity to do so and the strength to fight to be the best in the world although others believe the contrary.

''

“I have confidence in myself.

“But it all depends on the trophies that we win this season, on how I finish [the campaign] and on the World Cup.'

Ronaldo, who reached the milestone of 300 La Liga goals in the 4-0 win over Alaves at the weekend, will be hoping to add to his tally away to Espanyol tonight (7pm).
