Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois hints at switch to Real Madrid

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has added fuel to rumours of a possible move to Real Madrid by claiming that he wants to be closer to his children. His two kids, Adriana and Nicolas, currently stay in Madrid with his ex-girlfriend.

The Belgian goalkeeper is in his final year of contract at Chelsea and is not willing to sign a new deal just yet. He and Hazard are in the same situation with both players insisting that they will only sign a deal after they analyse the club's ambitions.

Speaking to the media after Belgium's last-gasp win over Japan, Courtois said, “I love living in London. Madrid and London are great. The only thing is that my children live in Madrid. I would like them to be close.”

The goalkeeper hinted that he is looking for a move to Madrid by saying, 'That doesn't mean I'm going to come back, but for me, they are very important, and I'm going to do something to see them more.'

Despite all this, the 26-year-old insisted that his sole focus now was the World Cup. 'I'm not going to talk about that now. I just said that I'll see everything after the World Cup,' Courtois said.

The 'confused' star ended his interaction by talking about his children again. 'The most important thing is my children, and I'll decide what's best for me in everything,' he said.

Chelsea signed Courtois from Genk back in 2011. They sent the goalkeeper out on loan to Atletico for three seasons before making him their #1.

However, the Belgian is reportedly looking to join Atletico's arch-rivals, Real Madrid this time around. He has been linked with them for a long time now, and a move might be on the cards very soon.

Keylor Navas is 31-years-old and signing a long-term replacement for him might be Florentino Perez's objective this summer.
