Barcelona close to making first summer signing in Sevilla’s Clement Lenglet
Barcelona are looking to make Sevilla’s Clement Lenglet their first signing of the summer with the defender said to be keen on making the move happen. The La Liga champions have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old in recent times and according to Catalan newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, the deal might be happening sooner rather than later.
According to reports by the paper, Lengler has already said “yes, I want to” join Barcelona. Whilst he remains grateful to Sevilla, it is believed that he is not keen to overlook the opportunity to make a move to the Camp Nou.
Mundo Deportiva also claims that the youngster has already had a meeting with Barcelona’s technical secretary Robert Fernandez and General Manager. The meeting is said to have been “decisive” in making up his mind regarding the move.
Barcelona are believed to have offered Lenglet a five-year contract. The wages, however, remain undisclosed.

The Frenchman’s release clause at Sevilla was earlier believed to be €30m. Mundo Deportivo, however, now reports that to be €35 million – a sum Barcelona should not have any trouble forking out.
Reports over last week have claimed that Barcelona will look to crack an amicable deal with Sevilla to secure the services of the young defender with payments being spread out over the course of a few years.
Barcelona will look to rejuvenate their backline and add depth to their squad. With Gerard Pique moving towards the wrong side of 30 and Samuel Umtiti being linked with a move every now and then, a fresh new face and a talented one at that will do them no harm whatsoever.
