Zinedine Zidane targets four players for Manchester United

With most of the Manchester United fans losing the faith they had in their manager Jose Mourinho, the reports of the Red Devils getting former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane as Mourinho's replacement are gaining momentum every passing day.

According to the latest reports in Mirror, Zidane would want as many as four players to turn the fortunes around at Old Trafford if he was to replace Mourinho. The 1998 World Cup winner with France is reportedly willing to manage the Premier League club and the Mirror claim that the French international has told his friends that he expects a call from the Manchester United officials if they decide Mourinho is no longer the man at Old Trafford.

The reports also suggested that the names that are in Zidane's plans are Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, Kroos' former teammate and Bayern Munich midfielder, James Rodriguez, James' teammate at Bayern, Thiago Alcantara and Paris-Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

Without a doubt, Kroos is easily one of the best midfielders going around at the moment and Zidane has worked closely with the German international, who was very instrumental in Real Madrid winning three successive UEFA Champions League titles.

Just like Kroos, Zidane has worked with James at the Bernabeu but the Colombian international had to leave the club on loan for more playing time and joined Bayern Munich before the start of Zidane's last season at the Spanish capital.

Thiago has been rated as one of the finest midfielders of this generation by many and he has the ability to control the tempo of the game with ease. He has been linked with Manchester United for a while without getting a move to England.

Cavani has been PSG's target man for the last few years and has done brilliantly for them, making him one of the top strikers in the continent. It will be interesting to see whether Manchester United officials will get these players so that Zidane joins them as their new manager and change their fortunes.
