Reports: Cristiano Ronaldo makes a transfer demand ahead of deadline day

Cristiano Ronaldo joined Serie A giants Juventus after spending nine trophy-laden seasons at Real Madrid. After his move to Juventus, the Portuguese star looks intent on continuing with his European success. Accordingly, a latest report from Daily Mail, who are citing Don Balon state that Ronaldo has asked the Italian club to make a bid for Serbian international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Savic, 23, has been subject to intense transfer speculation as clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea were interested in acquiring his services. Anyways, the transfer window for English clubs has closed down but the other European clubs could still pursue Savic. Hence, the report says that Ronaldo has identified Savic as a possible player who would upgrade the squad and help them claim the Champions League title this season.

He scored 14 goals and registered eight assists in Lazio’s Serie A campaign last season. They finished in the fifth spot in the league table. Hence, Savic might rightly look for a move away from Lazio, in order to justify his complete potential. Juventus spent a majestic amount on Ronaldo’s arrival, and they would have to churn out a similar transfer fee if they were to convince Lazio to sell Savic. This move looks unlikely to materialize this summer, but Savic could well be a potential target for Juventus in the upcoming transfer windows.

Ronaldo will make his much-awaited debut against Chievo this Saturday. Speaking to JuventusTV about his motivation to represent Juventus, he said, “Great club, first of all it is a great club.

“Since I was a kid, I looked at this team and said I hope to play there one day.

“Now I will play for a fantastic club, one of the biggest clubs in the world. I’m happy. I don’t have a precise moment when I decided.

“During the years, we played a few times against Juve and I had a special feeling that the Italian supporters like Cristiano.

“It’s the biggest club in Italy, one of the best in the world, so it was an easy decision, as Juve are an unbelievable club.”

It would be interesting to see whether Juventus pay heed to Ronaldo’s transfer demands.
