Real Madrid Transfer Rumour: Chelsea want star winger in exchange for Eden Hazard

Real Madrid have set their sight on Chelsea star Eden Hazard, according to a report from Spanish media outlet Don Balon. The report further suggests that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has resigned to the fact that will be losing one his biggest assets to the European champions in the summer.

The Belgian has long been linked with a move to the Bernabeu and with him entering the prime of his career, this might be the best time for Real to make a move.

Chelsea, however, will look to make the best out of the deal with many reports suggesting that Cristiano Ronaldo – who has struggled in La Liga this season might also be a part of any deal that sees the Belgian end up in the All White of Madrid.

While the report suggests that Abramovich is certainly enticed by the commercial appeal of Ronaldo, his age seems to be a factor that Russian billionaire is also talking seriously into contention. It has been reported that the Chelsea owner would, in fact, rather prefer the rising star Marco Asensio in exchange for Chelsea’s number 10.

Since making his debut for Real, Asensio has gone on to score 18 goals in his 69 appearances. The winger’s talent has already been recognised with the Spaniard being linked to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United as well in the past.

Hazard, meanwhile, has had a stellar time at Chelsea, winning the Premier League twice with the Blues whilst also bagging the PFA Player of The Year trophy in 2014-15.
