Real Madrid Transfer News: Luka Modric to Inter could happen soon, says agent

Reports in Italy suggest that Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric could end up leaving the Santiago Bernabeu this summer in spite of Los Blancos being hopeful of retaining him for the season. According to the reports, Inter Milan, who are after the Croat for a while now, have not given up on signing him and that the player will discuss his future with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez after the completion of the UEFA Super Cup tie against their local rivals Atletico Madrid in Estonia.

Confirming these reports, Modric's agent Marko Naletillic has talked up the 32-year-old's chances of moving to Italy and pointed out that the midfielder has been thinking about playing a big role for Inter in the upcoming seasons.

'Modric didn't just think about playing at Inter, he's really thrilled by the idea of having a big role with the Nerazzurri. I have the feeling that sooner or later, Modric will play in Italy: he grew up watching Serie A,' Naletilic told Tuttosport.

Last week, it was revealed that Modric will stay at Real Madrid for the upcoming season at least as the club has decided to give him a pay rise in the coming days. Inter Milan have been after the 32-year-old for the last month or so and are willing to offer the 2018 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball winner a lucrative six-year contract in which he will be getting around 10 million euros a year.

Adding to this, Modric was also promised that his final pay day will be with the Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, which is co-owned by Inter Milan, after four seasons in Serie A. Modric is currently in the Real Madrid squad for the Super Cup and the Real Madrid will want the midfielder stay at the club than winning a silverware before the start of the season.
