Real Madrid ready to sell Marco Asensio for £158 million to Liverpool in order to fund Neymar move – Reports
- Updated: June 28, 2018
Real Madrid have decided to cash-in on several first-team players to fund a move for Neymar as per reports in Spain. Los Blancos are keen on signing the former Barcelona star and are willing to match the asking price PSG demand.
One of the pivotal players Florentino Perez is ready to sacrifice is Marco Asensio. The Spaniard has been linked with a move for Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG and Bayern Munich in the past with Liverpool said to be the latest to show interest in him.
The Reds have been linked with a sensational £158 million move for the Spaniard, but nothing concrete is expected to take place any time soon. The 22-year-old did not wholly dismiss the rumour and claimed that he was only focused on the World Cup right now.
'Liverpool? When the World Cup is over, we'll talk about that sort of thing, now I'm focused on selection.” said the Real Madrid star.
His agent previously revealed that Blancos had rejected two €150 million offers from Premier League sides for his client. However, he did not mention the name of the club(s) who made the club.
SPORT claim that Madrid are ready to pay up to €300 million to sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain this summer. They see him as the ideal long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo and are ready to do anything to sign him.
The Brazilian joined PSG last summer for a world record fee of €222 million but has since then been linked with a move to Bernabeu. The Ligue 1 giants were knocked out by Real Madrid in the Champions League in the 2017/18 season after the winger got injured.
He is now back to his full fitness and has been dazzling for Brazil at the World Cup. He managed to get on the scoresheet in the final minute of their match vs Costa Rica.
Real Madrid have a tradition of signing the best players at the World Cup, and this will continue if Neymar takes Brazil as far as possible.
