Real Madrid told to pay £225 million to sign Eden Hazard – Reports

Chelsea have informed Real Madrid that they will have to pay £225 million to sign Eden Hazard according to Richard Keys. The journalist claims that The Blues are using that price tag to scare the Spanish side away.

Madrid have been chasing Hazard for a long time now. With Cristiano Ronaldo leaving, their interest in him grew. Neymar and Mbappe were their primary option, but with PSG and the players rebuffing the interest, Los Blancos had to turn to Hazard.

The Belgian is a big fan of the Galacticos and wants to join them. However, he has made it clear that Chelsea will decide his future and he won’t force a move away.

Chelsea are keen on tying him down to a new contract and have offered him a new deal. Reports suggest that it is £300,000 a week contract for the next five years.

Hazard has just two years left on his contract and is trying to move away. He knows that this is his best chance to join Madrid and that he might never get the opportunity again.

The transfer window for English clubs ends on Thursday, August 9th. With just a couple of days left, Chelsea are doing all they can to keep the Belgian and his teammate, Thibaut Courtois, at the club for the next season.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure this summer and left a massive void in the Real Madrid squad and the club is trying its best to fill it. Neymar was their #1 target, but PSG refused to have any negotiations for him. They had signed him a year ago for €222 million.

Kylian Mbappe was the next on Madrid’s wish-list, but he too turned down the move. PSG have made his transfer permanent for €186 million this summer, and they have no intentions of selling him.
